Dried Plum Puree
Dried plum puree adds moisture, richness and nutrients to a variety of baked goods. It is an excellent substitute for fats (butter, oil, shortening) in recipes. A good starting point is to replace half of the butter, oil or shortening called for with an equal amount of puree. Adjust as needed for future recipes.

Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups (about 8 ounces) Stapleton’s pitted prunes (dried plums)
6 tablespoons hot water
Directions:
In food processor, process dried plums and water until puréed. Cover and refrigerate up to 1 month.
