Watch Stapleton’s 2010 Prune Plum Harvest in Action

It’s Harvest Time! Watch the video below to see the 2010 prune plum harvest in action. First the mechanical harvester surrounds the prune plum tree and violently shakes the tree so the plums fall off and land in what’s called a skirt. After the plums land in the skirt, they move up the conveyor belt. You can see the harvest worker picking out the leaves and twigs that also fell from the prune plum tree. At the top of the conveyor belt, there is a blower that is used to remove any additional leaves or twigs before the prune plums are dropped into a large bin. Once in the bin, the prune plums are taken away to start the prune dehydration process, where plums are turned into prunes.
