Prunes are good for you!
Low-fat diets high in fiber, containing fruits and vegetables may reduce the risk of cancers of the colon, breast and prostate as well as reduce the risk of heart disease. Adequate fiber intake is also important in diabetes for blood glucose control. Prunes easily fit into the food pattern of people with diabetes. Three medium prunes equal one fruit exchange. A healthy adult should eat 25 to 35 grams of fiber a day.
