Do prunes really make you go to the bathroom?
It depends on how many you eat! Prunes are high in fiber and in sorbitol a non-digestible sugar alcohol. For some people, this can have a laxative effect. However for most people, eating as many as 12 prunes can significantly increase average dietary fiber intake without reported gastrointestinal discomfort (a single serving or prunes is 4-6 prunes).
